Hello Family,
"How does a womanist theologian engage with religious discourse on the ground?"
This is the question that drove my public theology independent study in Argentina. So much of what you learn in divinity school is about theory, religious history, and deconstructing faulty religious frameworks; thus, my primary motivation for pursuing this project was ✨application✨. What does what I'm learning in the classroom mean to the real world? and how can I share what I'm learning with family, friends, and people internationally.
The next few weeks will be me sharing reflections from my Argentina trip. Much of my Public Theology project manifested in written reflections (as mentioned in a previous post). I wanted to document what I was experiencing and feeling in real time for both me and my community. I want to be able to share, not only the joy of going on the trip with you all, but the process (e.g. mentally, physically, etc.).
My first reflection was a few days prior to me leaving. Here we go...
May you take risks. May you be brave. May you believe in yourself enough to try something new.
Be bold. Be you. Be fruitful.
With love,
Miss Ponder
