Committing To Me

Hello Family!

I am overjoyed and extremely excited for this year of motivation.

When I sent my last motivation text message Jan. 9, 2021, I was convinced that the 9 months prior I dedicated to sending motivational text messages, making YouTube videos, Instagram posts and interacting with you all weekly was in vain. I was depressed, struggling with anxiety, worried about whether my family had the financial grounding to add a 5th year to my degree program, navigating dating, and trying to figure out what my ‘why’ was…

Needless to say, I was all over the place and at my wits end with life in general.

My Nana would send me messages quoting the following scriptures:

  • Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”

  • Proverbs 3:5-6, “(5)Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.(6) Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

I couldn’t see the point in trusting in God for “His Plans” neither could I see the point in believing God had, and still has, prosperous plans for me. Often times, we either won’t see the point in trusting God or we can’t fathom the idea of this BIG GOD having such meticulous plans for us. However, faith is “the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” (Hebrew 11:1 NLT). So, it is natural that we have doubt, uncertainty, and reservations about going ALL IN on the dream, the goal, the hope, that God has planted on the inside of you.

What if, YOU are the difference in whether your dream works? The podcast, that book, starting the clothing brand, committing to your brand or business, quitting that miserable job, getting out of that toxic relationship? What if you have been the independent variable all along? The very thing that your future seed of hope is waiting on?

I am but human. I am messy, inconsistent at times, and I have the ability to be destructive.

Yet the God of the universe constructed me

Out of dust, he breathed life into thee and saw fit for me to exist

I may have doubts and reservations about who i am, called to be, my purpose, divinity, and other frivolous things

BUT if the creator sees purpose in me, I must find the space to grace myself with what He established for me

I am but human. YET God sees me.

This year, this month, this week-END, and TODAY remember you are seen. You may be afraid to talk about what you're dealing with, the dreams you’ve been having, the demons you’re fighting, trauma, abandonment, mental health, work, etc. So, I want you to remember that you are SEEN by Jesus, and me.

Meditate on the scriptures above. Pray about them. What is Jesus calling you to drop, pick-up, or commit to? What does that leap of faith look like? Hopes, dreams, goals, and new years resolutions mean nothing if you’re not willing to commit to whatever that THING is that you’ve been wrestling with and terrified to make a decision about.

Commit today! Commit to the seed of purpose that God has planted on the inside of you.

I love you. Jesus loves you MOST! Stay fruitful. Stay encouraged. Thanks for joining me on this journey! IT’S UP! #FruitfulFriday #TheFruitfulPlace #ShareTheFruit
